Our Professional Obligations
As registered tax agents and professional accountants, ISM Accountants & Advisors is committed to upholding the highest standards of ethical and professional conduct in accordance with the Tax Agent Services Act 2009, the Tax Practitioners Board Code of Professional Conduct, and relevant accounting standards.
Our obligations include:
- Conduct all interactions honestly, fairly, and ethically.
- Fully comply with taxation laws, regulations, and professional standards.
- Act in clients’ best interests while meeting legal and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain professional competence through ongoing development.
- Maintain client confidentiality and privacy at all times.
- Provide proper supervision and training to staff and outsourced providers.
- Implement strong administrative, quality assurance, and risk management processes.
- Comply with anti-money laundering and counter-terrorism financing laws, including client identity verification and sanctions monitoring.
Your Responsibilities as Our Client
ISM Accountants & Advisors strives to deliver tax and accounting services that are accurate, timely, and compliant. To help us achieve this, clients engaging our services are expected to:
- Provide full and accurate information in a timely manner to enable effective and compliant service delivery.
- Maintain complete and up-to-date records relevant to your tax, accounting, and financial affairs.
- Respond promptly to information requests from our team to ensure timely and accurate processing.
- Retain records as required under Australian tax law, including documentation related to income, expenses, superannuation, and employment.
- Abide by all relevant taxation and employment laws, including the Fair Work Act, Superannuation Guarantee laws, and other applicable regulations.
- Not knowingly provide false or misleading information to ISM Accountants & Advisors or to government agencies such as the Australian Taxation Office (ATO).
Failure to meet these responsibilities may impact our ability to act on your behalf or may result in the termination of our services.
Disclosures of Significant Matters
As at the date of publication:
- ISM Accountants & Advisors and its principals have no suspensions, restrictions, or disciplinary actions recorded against them with the Tax Practitioners Board.
- There are no factors that may plausibly affect your choice to use our services or keep using them.
Should any such matters arise in the future, this disclosure will be updated within 30 days in accordance with our obligations under the Tax Agent Services Act 2009.
